PART 1: BOOKING | PART 2: PLANNING | PART 3: PREPARING
As we return to “normal” event planning, many of our college clients are being asked to produce their large-scale concerts again, and we’ve recently gotten the question “Where do I start?” It feels a bit overwhelming. Especially when you’re understaffed, undertrained, and none of your volunteers have ever helped with an in-person event.
No problem. That’s what How To Concerts is here for. We are a middle buyer. We can walk you and your team through the entire process, so always feel free to contact us or set up a free consultation.
We’ve also gathered some of our best blog posts to help re-train your staff and get back into show-planning mode. This is a three part series, so be sure to check out Part 2 – PLANNING, and Part 3 – PREPARING in the coming weeks.
Let’s start with some basic terms…
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE:
Have more questions? No problem. There is no “stupid question” when you’re working with a team you trust. Contact us and we’ll clear up any confusion.
Now, let’s dive into one of the best parts of event planning – the artist selection process! When your team is ready to start brainstorming, remember that it’s not all about popularity. Budget, routing/geography, streaming numbers and ticket sales history are all important things when it comes to determining the best artist for your community.
ARTIST SELECTION:
Also, feel free to use our artist website search to aid in your brainstorming, but know that we are working daily to update prices. These fluctuate daily as artists get back to touring. Always double-check pricing with us so we can verify the most current price.
TIGHT BUDGET? TRY THESE STRATEGIES:
Keep checking our social media too (links at the top or bottom of this page), as we started a new Friday feature where we post info about a particular artist on the rise. Here is our playlist of artists we’ve predicted would rise, and who we think are the next big thing. We’ve historically predicted the rise of so many artists, including Billie Eilish, Khalid, Lizzo, Doja Cat, The Kid Laroi, Dan + Shay, bbno$, and more.
And, just in case your community isn’t quite ready to dive fully into in-person, full-capacity events, here are some safer concepts.
SOCIALLY-DISTANCED INFO:
Ultimately, we want your show to be a success. Choosing the artist is the first step in the process and we are here to help. Watch for our upcoming Part 2 & Part 3 blog posts about planning your event and preparing for the unexpected!
