First concert back after lockdown

Jolene: Rachel Baiman at Gather on Broadway locally, my first on the road was Tinashe @ UTSA.

Amber: Rachel Baiman at Gather on Broadway on my first day at How To Concerts! First one I went to
for fun was Dan + Shay with The Band Camino in Milwaukee.

Jake: I saw The Del McCoury Band’s NightGrass set in Telluride for my first show back… it was great!

Luke: Rachel Baiman – It felt surreal to hear live music with friends again, but I enjoyed every second of
it. I loved Rachel’s song “Thanksgiving,” and her cover of John Hartford’s “In Tall Buildings” was amazing.

Biggest change you made in 2021

Jolene: started doing things with people again!

Amber: lots of big changes this year, graduating from college, moving to Wisconsin, starting at How To
Concerts

Jake: I moved to Seattle and adopted the perfect dog, Leonard.

Luke: Moving! Though we didn’t move far, it’s a big change for our family. It has been pretty special to
make this house our own and get the kids excited about their new home.

Random Lockdown Hobby / Skill you learned in 2021

Jolene: tried to keep plants alive. Doing a mediocre job but excited about it, and now got my kids excited
about it.

Amber: I learned a bit about a ton of different forms of art – painting, calligraphy, embroidery, drawing,
etc.

Jake: Lockdown forced me to engage with some of my nerdy technical skills, so I learned a lot more
about virtual events, building computers, audio / video streaming, etc.

Luke: Trading stocks and crypto with my spare change. I’m also getting pretty good at kids’ haircuts!

Most listened to artist in 2021

Jolene: The Highwomen / Brandi Carlile

Amber: Taylor Swift

Jake: Phish, and copyright free music I used for virtual events…. My Spotify wrapped is actually pretty
funny to look at.

Luke: Definitely Manchester Orchestra – especially their last 2 albums – with Lord Huron coming in
second.

Most looking forward to in 2022

Jolene: Saying yes to more things, including taking a vacation, having friends and family over often, and
taking on new home projects.

Amber: Going to more shows!

Jake: Re-connecting with the outdoors.

Luke: Gathering! Maintaining relationships has been a struggle during the pandemic, and I want to be in
the presence of people I love as much as possible.

Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions?

Jolene: My family doesn’t really do resolutions but instead we choose a family mission statement every
year. This year a strong contender is “Crowd the Table” in order to encourage us to continuously invite
others into our home and be welcoming to all after two years of not doing much with other people. I
sincerely hope we get to and that it isn’t going to jinx us.

Amber: Embrace Wisconsin winter, get outside as much as possible, learn how to cook

Jake: I finally live somewhere with a bouldering gym – so climb more!

Luke: Read more. I have a handful of books that are begging to be read (or finished), but I haven’t made
time lately to sit down with a book. Here’s to hoping I can keep my eyes open for more than 10 minutes!
