1. How do you feel about the holiday season?

IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! I love the cheer, the décor, the music, the traditions, the family time, the food, the giving of gifts, and so much more.

2. What is your favorite holiday food?

Mashed potatoes with gravy. If I get that at Thanksgivings AND Christmas celebrations, I am so happy.

3. You live in Wisconsin. Do you enjoy snow?

I love snow, and a white Christmas is always much more enjoyable, as long as the roads stay clear for safe driving. But I do love playing in the snow.

4. Do you take any time off?

By default I do! Because I work with so many colleges, no one is doing events right around the holidays, so I get a nice break. Plus, the entertainment industry shuts down for 2 weeks around the holidays. Thus, it’s just a naturally slow time that my kids, husband and I get to enjoy together. I love it!

5. What is your favorite part of the holidays?

A ton of time with family and friends. My husband and I both come from huge families, so it’s great to get to see everyone, and we get to see friends that we don’t see often too!

6. Shopping preference – online or in-store?

Online. I don’t have a lot of time for in-store shopping, unless it’s in the dollar rack at Target.

7. Favorite random family traditions?

Watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” at some point, drinking an Old Fashioned at 11am with my family on Christmas day, my grandmother’s mannequin Christmas tree (yes, this is real and here is a picture to prove it), a white elephant exchange in my husband’s family that gets more ridiculous each year, and my kids falling asleep at their grandparents’ house while we stay up way too late singing on Christmas eve.

8. Favorite holiday music?

Dustin Kensrue’s Christmas album, “River” by Robert Downey Jr., and background holiday jazz music at parties. No clue why that last one thrills me so much.

9. What decorations do you have to have in your house?

My dog wears a jingle bell collar, we have to have a REAL Christmas tree, and we have to hang lights up on the outside of the house. That’s the bare minimum.

10. Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions?

Now that I think about it, I do. I’d like to recreate all those traditions – the food, the family time, and the joy throughout the entire year! And, lose the 5 pounds I gained in potatoes.
