I’ll be honest… I might be writing this as my own personal cheerleading session. Regardless of my motives, this can apply to everyone – whether you are a student planning a concert, an aspiring entrepreneur, or my sister-in-law trying to find a job that fits her amazing ambition and attitude.

I’ve had goals and dreams my entire life, and often my biggest challenge is my own fear and doubt. Life is too short, so I’ve listed a few ways we can learn to FEAR LESS and reach our full potential.

Get Organized

Get Organized

Sometimes it’s the small things that make us panic. Sometimes it’s the big things. If having a clean desk makes your mind feel more organized, clean your desk. If sitting down for 3 hours and creating a timeline and plan for your month makes you feel like you have a vision, it’s well-worth the 3 hours. Do whatever you need to do for your brain to feel organized. I promise you will feel less frazzled and, in turn, fear the unexpected a little less.

Toughen Up

Toughen Up

Things won’t always work out the way you want. Only TRY to control what you CAN control. As for the things and people you can’t, you can control how you react to them. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow and learn. Every time someone says “no,” move on to the next opportunity, stop dwelling on it, and try again later.

Take a Breath

Take a Breath

We all have those days where we are so exhausted we just stare at the computer and wonder how we’ll ever find the words and energy to finish what we’re doing. On those days, it may be just a waste of energy to continue. It’s time to take a rest. Take a break. Trust me – if you walk away from something and actually allow your mind to rest, you will come back to it with a fresh outlook and get much further in a shorter amount of time. Don’t get discouraged if you need to take a break.

Laugh

Laugh

In general, let’s not turn speedbumps into mountains. Stop taking yourself so seriously, and learn to laugh at your minor mistakes, and learn from them. Have fun. Isn’t that what life is truly about? If your entire outlook is cloudy, you may need to re-think your commitments and insert some fun into your life. Take a deep breath. Go watch something stupid on YouTube if you need to. Go to hot yoga and laugh at how much you are sweating. Stop taking every single moment so seriously and smile at how hilarious life can be.

Use Your Support System

Use Your Support System

Ask for help when you need it. I personally love helping people in whatever ways I can, and it’s rewarding to do so. It is truly a gift to help someone else achieve their goals. Don’t deprive someone of that opportunity! If someone doesn’t want to help you, they won’t. If someone does, they will go the extra mile to help you. Thank them repeatedly, but take the help!
